The City of Alcoa Public Works and Engineering Department announced today that beginning Thursday, September 30, 2010 the westbound left turn onto Bessemer Street will be closed on the northbound US129 By-pass off ramp.

This restriction will remain in effect until Rogers Group, the Tennessee Department of Transportation contractor for Phase II of the Middlesettlements Road Improvements, completes construction of the diverging diamond interchange at the Bessemer Street / Middlesettlements Road / U.S. 129 Bypass intersection. This construction is expected to be completed in mid-November.

Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes during the closure.
