Alcoa police detectives conducted an investigation into the unlawful sale of alcohol to minors during a two-day operation in the City of Alcoa.

On Thursday, May 26 and Friday, June 3, detectives visited 36 businesses in Alcoa, where an undercover informant under the age of 21 attempted to purchase alcohol. At six of the businesses, the underage patron was either never asked for identification, or was still served alcohol when unable to produce an ID. Employees were cited at the following Alcoa businesses:

• Kroger, 244 S. Hall Road, Alcoa
• Texas Roadhouse, 334 Fountain View Circle, Alcoa
• O’Charley’s Restaurant, 364 Fountain View Circle, Alcoa
• Puleo’s Grille, 352 Fountain View Circle, Alcoa
• Aztex Market, 511 Louisville Road, Alcoa
• Green Meadow Wine & Spirits, 1147 Hunters Crossing Drive, Alcoa

The employee completing the illegal transaction at each business was cited with unlawful sale of alcohol to a minor and is required to appear in Alcoa Municipal Court at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5.
