During the weeks of Christmas and New Year holidays the following adjustments will be made for residents and commercial customers in the City of Alcoa.

Residential, Bulky Waste and Leaf Collection will be adjusted as follows:

Residential sanitation collections normally scheduled for Friday, December 25 will be collected on Monday, December 28. Residential sanitation collections normally scheduled for Friday, January 01 will be collected on Monday, January 04, 2010. Tuesday thru Thursday routes remain unchanged.

There will be no residential bulky waste, demolition or leaf collection on December 25 and January 01. Crews will attempt to service the entire city during the first three days of those weeks.

Residential Recycling will be adjusted as follows:

Collection normally scheduled for Friday, December 25 will be collected on Saturday, December 26. There will be no change in recycling collection during the New Year holiday week.

Commercial Sanitation Collection:

Commercial collection scheduled for Friday, December 25, 2009, will be collected on Monday, December 28. Commercial collection scheduled for Friday, January 01, 2010, will be collected on Saturday, January 02.

The Alcoa / Maryville / Blount County Landfill will be closed all day on Friday, December 25 and Friday, January 1.
