The City of Alcoa Public Works and Engineering Department announced today that City crews have begun work on the Greenway connector along Wright Road between the Edison Street intersection and Meadowood Apartments. The trail construction should take about four weeks to complete depending on weather conditions and the availability of asphalt as the winter months approach. This segment of the Greenway Trail system will serve as an important link for the families with children who live in the apartments and walk to and from school.

Motorists are urged to exercise caution during this work and to seek alternative routes when practical.
