The U.S. 129 Bypass will be closed between the Hall Road split and the Louisville Road intersection on Sunday, October 3, 2010 to allow for installation of the Greenway pedestrian bridge. The closure will begin at 4:00 a.m. and will remain in effect until the bridge installation is complete. The Contractor, Bell & Associates, has estimated the highway should be reopened by 2:00 p.m.

During the closure, southbound traffic will be detoured onto Hall Road to Bessemer Street. The southbound detour will then continue on Bessemer Street to the U.S. 129 Bypass at Middlesettlements Road. Northbound traffic will be detoured west on Louisville Road to Hunt Rd, then onto Hunt Road to U.S. 129.

The closure will be rescheduled if there is a threat of thunder storms. Otherwise, the bridge installation will proceed regardless of weather.

Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes during the closure.
