12/30/2010 Springfield Branch Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitiation Set to Begin | |

The City of Alcoa announced today that work is set to begin on the Springfield Branch sanitary sewer rehabilitation project. The contractor, Cleary Construction of Tompkinsville, KY, will be working with the City of Alcoa on the installation of this sewer line which will replace the existing line that extends from the west of Park Drive heading eastward and following the entire length of Pennsylvania Avenue to East First Street, then crossing East Broadway Avenue and continuing eastward in front of the local businesses before finally turning south and crossing Old Knoxville Pike at the Eagleton Baseball Park to a terminus at Main Road. The project is scheduled to begin Monday, January 3, 2011 and is expected to be complete by June 3, 2011. Motorists who travel or live on Pennsylvania Avenue might experience a disruption of traffic at times. Motorists are urged to exercise caution during this work and to seek alternative routes when practical. | |
