The City of Alcoa announced today that its recycling rewards program is gearing up for action. Delivery of the new 96-gallon recycling carts started Monday and will continue through the week in preparation for the first pickups under the new program that will start next week.

Residents who enrolled in the new RecycleBank® rewards program should watch for a letter from Waste Connections, the RecycleBank® vendor, which will describe how they are to set up their RecycleBank® account.

Subscribers may start using the new carts immediately, however their first service won’t occur until either the first or second week of February as shown in the information that was mailed earlier from the City. Residents are reminded to place their old, empty blue recycling bin curbside alongside their new cart on the first day of collection. Old bins will be picked up at that time.
