In 2010, Residential Units will be broken into community sections to more accurately charge customers based on their impervious areas. The current flat-rate for Residential Units is a median of impervious surface for residences within the city.
Ordinance for Residential Rates
Exempt Properties
- Undeveloped properties < 500 s.f. of impervious area
- Railroad tracks (Railroad buildings / maintenance facilities will be billed)
- TDOT and COA public right-of-ways
- Agricultural property, if < 10% impervious area
- Public parks / greenway, if < 50% impervious area
- Any property that has zero stormwater discharge to the City’s stormwater system.
